Brushed 2beta release date 2006-12-24

To all pleasure seekers:
I’d liked to release early this time and I’ve really tried hard to get a beta-version of Brushed going for you as a little present right on 24th.
But I didn’t succeed as I got ill a few days ago and changes between the code base of Firefox 1.5 and 2.0 are more difficult than I’ve suspected (tabs are completely corrupted at the moment, no tab-closebutton to see at all).

I’m lookin forward releasing before New Year’s Eve, although I’m a very optimistic person as regards release dates. And working digitally and being optimistically is a contradiction in terms. ;)

Frohe Weihnacht oder schöne Feiertage, je nachdem wie Ihr dazu steht!

Brushed surpasses 1 million download mark 2006-03-24

Yes, that’s alright! I haven’t observed the numbers that vigilantly, as Brushed for Firefox must already have surpassed 1.000.000 downloads at addons.mozilla.org for more than a week now. This are only the numbers of downloads from their site, at mine are a few tenthousands more.

Thanks a lot to all of you, who have already downloaded and appreciated using it and who have given support to improve this theme. For all others: GO, GET IT!

User Experience: Message Boxes in Brushed 2005-08-09

New alert icons for Winstripe (Deer Park)

From Comment #03 on this thread is getting really interesting. Dean Tessman provides a link to an MSDN-article, where the usage of Message Box Types and their graphical symbols are pointed out.
According to it, the usage of the question mark message symbol is not recommended (any longer):

Donate – if you’ve got resources and like my work 2005-06-17

Many of you folks out there have asked me for a matching port of Brushed for Thunderbird. Let me shortly explain my point of view.
It’s quite clear to me that many people will laugh out loudly when they are asked to give away money for a program’s theme as there are that many who offer such things for nothing. So do I.
But you have to look a bit closer…
