Accessibility Validation/Notifications/Audits as part of Firefox Developer Tools

Mozilla’s mission to “promote openness, innovation & opportunity on the Web” would go perfectly with a deeper integration of accessibility validation/notifications/audit measurements at Firefox Developer Tools.
It would help raising awareness of developers and product managers about this important part of web development and lower costs of audits (by saving time) in dev process.

Today, a coalition of 36 civil rights organisations from all over Europe invites everyone to participate in an EU-wide action day to demand that the next European Parliament defends digital civil and human rights.

We Promise Campaign

WePromise.eu is a campaign that seeks to bring digital rights like for example support for privacy legislation to the agenda of the upcoming European elections 2014.

Participating in “The Day We Fight Back”

The Day We Fight Back
On 11 Feb 2014 I’m participating in „The Day We Fight Back“ – an online-campaign against mass surveillance by NSA.

This “worldwide day of activism in opposition to the NSA’s mass spying”, which is initiated by a broad coalition of activist groups, companies, and online platforms a.o. the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and Mozilla, targets on Internet citizens to pressure lawmakers to end mass surveillance.

On upcoming Saturday, 25 January will be the opening of a shop, that takes pioneer role in Vienna: Lunzers Maß-Greißlerei.
Andrea Lunzer, the owner, puts the focus on avoidance of single-use packaging. Moreover all offered products are organic and regional. The products are offered without or when necessary with environmentally compatible packaging.

On this occasion the new website will be launched. Seite Zwei – Bureau für Design was responsible for graphics design, I’ve been consulting on technical questions and have developed the site.

On 19 March Lunzers Maß-Greißlerei has been announced as one of the four award-winners of Wiener Umweltpreises 2014 (Viennese Environment Award). Congratulations!

Jubilee – Hackathon X

Metalab Hackathon X
Less than 4½ years after the 1st Viennese Hackathon Wiens there’s a jubilee: Next weekend 15-17 November Hackathon X will take place at Metalab.

Due to my current residence I will take the opportunity to participate by working on a (attention: buzzword) cloud-based project for personal digital infrastructure.

Besides, time and again I’m enthused by event artwork of Metalab-Benutzerin Gem among others. Here’s a collection of previous ones, partly inspired by Art Nouveau.
